                                 WHAT INDIA NEEDS?

A startup everywhere. I stay in,once called a Garden city and now a IT hub, Bangalore. This place attracts talent from all around  India. People coming fresh out of college with dreams and  to start their career. Owing to this image, Bangalore hosts numerous startups.
And not only the city but country has seen a surge in startups number in recent years, thanks to new government policies and glitters in the media(and of course the wealth associated). Now 'ting se leke tong and ding se leke dong', everything is available online. Groceries, clothes, medicals and even chai.

It seems like business is taking advantage of our laziness and less time.

On a whole new front, this boom is good. Economy is growing, consumers are getting better options, competitive growth in the market . Yet there are many issues, which seeks our immediate attention. The needs of the society. I am talking about the needs and not the wants.

Do you think our priorities should be to bring foreign brands in our wishlist, or to save our energy and time by getting groceries on our doorstep.

Entrepreneurship thrives on problem. Where there is a problem, there is a solution and you market solution to earn money. And India has been doing it wonderfully. By the way, its now a third largest startup nation.

But why only cater the middle and rich strata, why we always neglect the most populated lower strata. There is a distinction between need and want, why we are only serving the wants. Yes of course wants earns more money, but being a responsible citizen of a country which always taught about helping others, brotherhood, we should also have  priorities to serve needs.

If we can find solutions for not-so-problem(like getting things home delivered), then we can also resolve issues like education, food, diminishing the gap. Merely copying from west, Ola to Uber, Amazon to Flipkart, with poor execution wont help. Entrepreneurs should rather find what Indian society needs the most.

These problems has always been there, but we never saw a boom like startup to eradicate them.
Social entrepreneurship brings more value to the society since it caters to all classes. It is how livelihood improves and not just lives of few.

Now unlike startups, this may not earn a lot of wealth, but this is what our India needs.
So this Gandhi Jayanti, lets think what India needs?
